A continuation of the series of picture books about Wemmicks, a race of wooden people, that was started in the book You Are Special.
One day Nip and Tuck began to compete over who had more boxes and balls, and eventually the whole town of Wemmicksville began to compete. Punchinello's friends didn't care about all of that, but Punchinello did. He began to sell off all his belongings and work harder to buy up more and more boxes and balls. It takes a, literal, trip to Eli's house to teach Punchinello that having more and better things for popularity and admiration isn't the best idea.
