Warriors: The New Prophecy is a series of six fantasy books written by Erin Hunter. It is the second main story arc in the larger Warriors series, following on from the original series. It continues the story of the four Clans of warrior cats. The New Prophecy is not told from the point of view of Firestar, who narrated the original series; instead the story is told from the point of view of his two daughters, and Tigerstar's son. The gap in-between the original series and The New Prophecy was later filled in with the publishing of Firestar's Quest, an extra-long and stand-alone novel in the Warriors series, in 2007. The story of the cats was continued in a third six-book series, Warriors: Power of Three.
The Clans have had peace for some time, but terrifying new prophecies have been given to the Clans of warrior cats by their ancestors. Humans are beginning to destroy their home. StarClan choose some cats to go on a long journey, to find a new home for the four Clans – but will they be ever find one? And even if they do, will they be too late?
The New Prophecy is a good series, although not as good as the original series. However, I hugely admire the authors' imagination in giving the Clans a new home – I never could have predicted that happening! The story was well told, although the ending was a little weak. Some of the love-stories are slightly cringe-worthy, although they're not too bad, generally. If you enjoyed the original series, however, you will definitely enjoy this series.
