Through the Window is a picture book written and illustrated by Charles Keeping and published in 1970. The story is seen through the eyes of a small boy who watches the familiar sights and inhabitants of the street he lives on through his bedroom window. He witnesses a dramatic incident as the brewery's drayhorses escape, but only partly understands the consequences of the event. The vivid colour illustrations were painted on numerous overlaid layers of acetate. It was also produced as a short film for the BBC's Storytime programme.
