There’s a billy goat in the garden and it is up to the nearby animals to get him out! This picture book explores how the different farm yard animals try to get the naughty billy goat out of the garden. Although the animals are all bigger than the billy goat it is the little bee that manages to eventually get the billy goat out. The book is based on an old Puerto Rican folk tale and is illustrated beautifully with fabric pictures that really help the scence to come alive during the story. Written by Laurel Dee Gugler and illustrated by Clare Beaton this book is the perfect way to introduce and reinforce phonics and literacy with children. As you turn the pages the rhyming and repeating verses help younger children to really get involved with the story. In conclusion this is the perfect book to read to younger children whether you need to use it for a group or an individual it will entertain and delight.
