When Jonathan's father is summoned to Rome to help victims of the plague, he and his friends Flavia, Nubia and Lupus are asked to accompany him in order to help the Emperor Titus find a way to stop the plague, after he has a dream that Rome will be devastated. Jonathan, however, has a secret mission of his own to fulfill, but all does not go according to plan...

I enjoyed this book, although it was not the best in the series. The ending is a bit disappointing since the book ends on a cliffhanger so you have to read the next book to find out what happens next.
