It is written by Barry Turner, adapted from the same author's adult book, And the Policeman Smiled. It is the true story of the Kindertransport children who were rescued from Nazi Germany and brought to England to start new lives.

Reader's Reviews

I loved this book. It was very moving and sad. I didn't know much about the Jewish children going to England during World War II, so I was really interested to find about them in this book. I would highly recommend it to older children who like World War II books.
