Michael Andrew Bridge Morpurgo is an English author, poet, playwright, and librettist. He is best known for his children's books. He was Children's Laureate from 2003 to 2005, and was award the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2006.[1] He mainly writes historical fiction, adventure and real-life based novels.
