Fox Friend is a novel written by Michael Morpurgo.
Have you ever seen a fox? Clare's lived all her life on a farm, but she's never seen a fox... until she finds a tiny cub who's lost his mum. Clare must keep him hidden. Her father thinks foxes are vermin – pests that need to be shot. Will the cub be safe?
At the end, the last chapter was called "Tragedy", and the fox that Clare had brought up throughout the book was killed. I did not like this ending at all. I think Michael Morpurgo should have ended differently. It is meant to be a children's book, for younger children than his other books, and I don't think that it would be good for young children. I am 13, and it upset me! I would not recommend it.
