Meet Stanley Lambchop.
He's an ordinary boy with an extraordinary problem.
He's four feet tall. About a foot wide. ...oh, and half an inch thick.
At first being flat is fine.
It's fun going in and out of rooms simply by sliding under the door. And it's a hoot being posted to your friends in California for a holiday. But it's not always easy being different, and soon Stanley wishes he could be just like everybody else again.
But how will he ever fill out?
Note: the infobox on the right refers to the abridged, large-scale picture book version of this story, published in 2006. The orignal book was published in 1964.
My daughter enjoys this book a lot. The illustrations are fun, but I feel the text suffers from being too much abridged. I'm told that the original is a better story, so I will seek it out.
