Description[]

A tale of Redwall by Brian Jacques.

Martin the Warrior was a very young mouse when his father, Luke the Warrior, left their home, to search for the sea rats that had killed his wife and Martin's mother. He never came back. Consequently, Martin can remember almost nothing of his father Luke, and has always wondered what happened to him. And, now the evil forces in Mossflower are defeated, and the creatures of Mossflower are building the abbey that was the brainchild of Germaine, first Abess of Redwall, Martin has the freedom to go the Northlands, to try to find out what happened to his father.

He travels north with a company of friends, but on the way is attacked by various different bands of vermin. But he finally makes it to the far north, where he meets some old friends of Luke's, and who tell him the story of his father, and his pursuit of the vermin sea rat captain Vilu Daskar.

Reader's Reviews[]

1[]

A quite different Tale of Redwall to the others because the majority of the book is a story being told within a story. The stirring story of Luke the Warrior, and his daring pursuit of the evil blood-red boat, the Goreleech, and the stoat pirate captain, Vilu Daskar. This, I personally think is an excellent story, but the end and the beginning (outside of the "legend" of Luke) are a bit boring. However, it is fascinating to find out what happened to Martin's father. This book is much better read after reading Martin the Warrior and Mossflower.
