The Assassins of Rome is a historical fiction novel, and is the fourth book in the Roman Mysteries series, written by Caroline Lawrence.
It's September AD 79 in the Roman port of Ostia, and Jonathan ben Mordecai is celebrating his eleventh birthday with his three friends Flavia Gemina, Nubia and Lupus. The next day, however, Jonathan has disappeared with a mysterious visitor who came to see his father the night before. His friends discover that he has gone to Rome, and their search to find him lead them into all kinds of danger...
