Description[]

Around Christmastime the tailor of Gloucester had to finish sewing an important coat for an important customer, but he didn't have any of one type of material he needed. He asked his cat, Simpkin, to get him some while he rested. While he did so, the tailor found mice trapped under tea cups and set them free, realizing too late that they must have belonged to his cat. The cat came home and saw what the tailor did and became angry, so that he didn't give the tailor the material he needed. That night, Simpkin visited the tailor's shop and saw the mice in there sewing the coat that the tailor needed. Though they teased the cat, Simpkin saw their kindness and repented. He gave the tailor his material in the morning and the tailor finished the coat on time.
