Liverpool Miss is an autobiographical book, written by Helen Forrester, and published in 1979. It is the sequel to Twopence to Cross the Mersey, and is the second part of Forrester's autobiography series, with the third book being By the Waters of Liverpool.
The continuing story of Helen Forrester's poverty-stricken childhood in Liverpool during the Depression. The Forrester family are slowly winning their fight for survival. But fourteen-year-old Helen's personal battle is to persuade her parents to allow her to earn her own living, to lead her own life after the years of neglect and inadequate schooling while she cared for her six younger brothers and sisters. Her untiring struggles against illness caused by severe malnutrition and, above all, the selfish demands of her parents, make this a story of amazing courage and perseverance.

This book continues Helen's childhood and at the end of this book she is still only sixteen. I really enjoyed this book because it showed how Helen was growing up but still in her teens. She is still weak but has now managed to get a job, despite her parents arguments. I really admire Helen because she had a really difficult childhood and Helen manages to get through.
