It's Coronation Year, 1953. Sally's mother has been taken seriously ill and is in the hospital, her father is Abroad and her big brother is doing his National Service in the army. Sally finds herself all alone and having to stay with Mrs Spinks next door, when something absoulutely terrible happens... so terrible that she can't tell anybody about it... and she desperately needs to talk to someone like God very much, or to an angel, or to some helpful human being who might know what to do...
I found this book very exciting never knowing what was going to happen next. It's actually not about God. It is about a man named Godfrey and his old friends used to call him God. Apart from that I really enjoyed Amber's Secret. (Olivia Age 13)
