Clean with some mild peril.

A pertinent point to any intending to read, or encourage the reading of, these books must be regarding the relative 'outdatedness' of some of the concepts and, in surprisingly few places, the natural history facts. The overwhelming message however is one of showing respect to, and taking joy in, the wonders of the natural world.

The characters of Hal and Roger are inherently positive role models with nevertheless a sense of fun in the world and though they do make mistakes these are never without a valuable lesson being learned.
